Ambassador Kristin Armstrong KRISTIN ARMSTRONG

Kristin Armstrong Savola, the most decorated woman in U.S. cycling history, joins as a second-time Amgen Tour of California Race Ambassador. She steps into the role on the heels of her incredible performance at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 in which she won her third gold medal. Over the years, Armstrong Savola has used the Amgen Tour of California as a training platform for Olympic success beginning with the first invitational time trial held in 2011. Throughout the race week she will visit with fans and young students to inspire the next generation of cyclists and spread excitement about the sport

AmbassadorFreddie Rodriguez FREDDIE RODRIGUEZ

“Fast” Freddie Rodriguez is a former American professional road cyclist and four-time USA Pro Road National Champion. Rodriguez started his career in the United States junior development program and eventually rode his way into the European peloton. His top results as a sprinter include second in the Classic Milan-San Remo and a stage win at the Giro d’Italia. Rodriguez serves as an ambassador of Amgen Tour of California for a second year with a focus on kids activities, school visits, and promoting healthy living.

Ambassador Jens Voigt JENS VOIGT

Former pro cyclist and fan-favorite Jens Voigt had a storied career which spanned over 17 years at the sport’s highest level. His lifetime achievements include two Tour de France stage wins, 15 completions of the Tour de France, and a brief stint as the UCI World Hour Record holder in 2014. Now in his third year as an ambassador of the Amgen Tour of California, Voigt provides on-course commentary for the NBC television broadcast, engages with fans in the hospitality areas, and participates in fan rides on the course throughout the race week.

While he’s traveling around the world, you can find Voigt at such events as L’Etape California by Le Tour de France, on virtual rides on Zwift, and of course at his new Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin which takes place each fall.

The hard-working legend of the peloton also recently launched his Shut Up Legs clothing brand and continues to share his story with fans in his biography of the same name.
